Project 16 : Life Skills Home Project
2002
Homeless boys and girls come from several social problems such as failure of the family institution, the boys/girls wish for his/her own freedom, bad friend-socializing, poverty and labour migration.
Being homeless, the boys/girls must exit from education, fall to the addiction/criminal /sexual- allurement circles, risk to infection especially AIDS and contribute to public untidiness.
Most importantly, youngsters homelessness is a loss to the future power of the nation.
Unfortunately at present there are still no agencies/organizations in Thailand which have accurate, complete data and statistics on homeless children (particularly the Thai youngsters) affecting an integrated solving of the homeless children problem to be not successful yet.
The Statesman Foundations executive board by its Honorary Presidents advice thus had adopted a youngster development project sited at Wat Suankaew as an experimental project to help solve the problem. |
